I worked with the folks at The Collaborative to create three videos showcasing three Georgetown University Compass Fellows. The fellowship helps undergraduates build business skills and networks as they grow their own ventures. These kids are getting it done.
This mini-doc is a bit of marketing for Frenchie’s Bakery. Soon bringing contented sighs to Washington DC!
“Baffle their minds with Bullsh*t, Kerry Leigh” will screen at the DC Shorts Film Festival. It’s the largest audience-driven collection of short films in the country. As this is one of the few festivals with content selected by audience, not committee, we were especially happy to make the cut.
A sneak peek into the DC chapter’s monthly coffee competition.
Sockets Records asked me to cover a showcase at The Black Cat featuring a few bands on the label, including The Cornel West Theory. This was initially just going to be some pick-ups from the show, but as we had some downtime before the show, we snagged some interviews on the fly. Mesmerized by their [...]
I was asked to cover the Lady Gaga concert for The Express. (We couldn’t go in the show because Gaga has some kind of bias against web content providers.) But we did speak to some interesting folks outside the show. The “monsters” like Lady Gaga a lot! And they want to tell you about it! [...]
These girls, umm, rock? This week-long camp, created by a vast swath of the DC arts community, teaches music, performance, and a litany of life skills to young Washingtonians. This is their final show at The 9:30 Club. It was one of the best rock shows I have ever attended, and the most fun I [...]

Although the change in pace with the new song does give the piece a more lively feel. It’s certainly a more obvious dance choice. [...]
Password: rendered Thanks to the Fatback DJ Collective for having me out to the 9:30 club for their yearly appearance so I could gratuitously rack focus on the new 7D. So creamy… Now they can wallow in this night forever, as any good Fatbacker should.
After Effects DC has arrived! I’m excited about picking the brains of more experienced designers in person. I’m pretty tired of only picking up new tricks from 11-year-olds on youtube. In the spirit of creative competition, members were asked to submit a design for the banner on the Adobe Groups’ website. Here are the constraints: [...]
This is an intro to The Express’ Best Of 2009: Best New Blog! In conjunction with the National Institute of Health, they sponsored a benefit concert at The Rock and Roll Hotel. Junior League Band, Deville, and Once Okay Twice came to rock out.
Food and drinks!
